CARTHAGE, MO.--- Charlie Snow is a politician in training, the fourth grader looks up to Congressman Billy Long. Snow helped bring Long to his school, after his class began learning about the different branches of government.
"I talked to my dad. He talked to Billy. We figured something out and got him here," said Charlie Snow, Fairview Elementary student.
Long talked to fourth grade students about his career, his duties as a congressman, and how government works.
"We like to get around to the schools anytime we're in the district and talk to the kids. It's good for them to meet their congressman," said Billy Long, Missouri Congressman.
Snow says his idol was right on point.
"I think he had some good statements and I agree with everything he said," said Snow.
The fourth grader who's already involved in student government wants to follow in the congressman's footsteps to Washington D.C.
"I hope to follow his path," said Snow.
Good news for Snow, eventually, he can intern for their office. Long says he just has to be a little older than the fourth grade.
