Congressman Billy Long is asking the Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District for a 90-day extension to determine repayment of funds for the Ozarks Rivers Heritage Foundation based in Branson.

Long says the Corps “dramatically mismanaged” the handling of its relationship with the Foundation, which manages recreation areas around Table Rock Lake, including Moonshine Beach and Dewey Short Visitor Center.

Long says the Corps made the wrong decision when determining groups with cooperative management lease agreements could no longer keep user fees to maintain parks.

The Corps issued a deadline of January 5th for the Foundation to determine repayment of funds. Long and the Foundation Board’s request would extend that deadline to early April.
